A company which has destroyed itself
2.0Current Employee / Data Scientist Manager
Pros: Work from home but also nice offices if you choose to go in. Good benefits and time off previously, like summer Fridays.
Cons: The company made a sharp downhill turn last November with a chaotic reorg and no clear strategy after that. Leadership has been making poor decisions because they don't listen to people more than a level below them. Promotions can be arb...

Same as every tech company
4.0Current Employee / Designer
Pros: Salaries are high compared to other brands, people are generally nice, projects change frequently.
Cons: Lots of directional changes, but again, same as all brands.

was better years ago, going downhill recently
2.0Current Employee / Marketing Specialist I
Pros: work life balance is ok. benefits are also ok. pto could be better.
Cons: the culture that was here when i started at trip is gone. work life balance is teetering too, as were asked to work more for less growth, promotions, and more, with little understanding from exec leadership that this is happening

Used to be great, losing its way
3.0Current Employee / Data Engineer
Pros: Working with genuinely nice and smart people. Good WLB, no work from office mandate.
Cons: Strategy changes too quick, hard to build anything that lasts. Recent back-to-back restructuring killing morale and career growth. TC trailing below market rate

No longer the Tripadvisor people used to know
2.0Current Employee / Machine Learning Scientist
Pros: The only pro now is some legacy benefits and lifestyle perks.

Grim future
2.0Current Employee / Software Engineer
Pros: Benefits are still very good, somehow have not been slashed yet. Work life balance is good on some teams. Some very bright engineers
Cons: Morale is in the toilet. ~10 layoffs in 4 years. Absolutely no direction. The $100 everyone gets each year to give to charity was cut in half as a cost saving move. That sums it up quite well I think
